Custom Button Badges, Printed With Your Design or Logo

A button badge is the cheapest wearable thing you can put a logo on. That's most of the appeal. It costs a fraction of a t-shirt or a bottle, it takes a full-colour print without compromise, and people actually wear it — a badge pinned to a bag at a college fest travels further than a flyer that goes in the bin.

At ARC Print we print custom button badges on aluminium with a laminated glossy face and a safety-pin back. Pick 40mm or 60mm, upload your design or build one in the customiser, choose a quantity and order. Minimum is six pieces, which is lower than most printers will go — useful when you want to see a physical sample before ordering three hundred for an event.

Full-colour printing is included at no extra cost, so a four-colour logo costs the same as a single-colour one. Backgrounds, gradients and detailed line work all print fine. The one real constraint is size: at 40mm, small text and thin strokes lose definition. If your design has a tagline in 8pt type, either go up to 60mm or drop the tagline.

Prices step down as the quantity goes up, and larger orders are discounted up to 30% — the calculator shows your actual per-unit price as you change the number, so there's nothing to enquire about for a few hundred pieces. You get a GST invoice either way. Orders in the hundreds print and ship on the same process as an order of six; the only thing that changes is the timeline, which the team will confirm against your event date before printing starts.

Where it's worth a conversation instead: orders in the thousands, or badges going out as part of a wider kit for the same event alongside ID cards, lanyards or t-shirts. That's easier to price and schedule as one job.

Where Custom Badges Actually Get Used

Schools and colleges are the biggest use by volume. Annual days, sports meets, house colours, prefect badges, Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations, orientation week, fest crew badges — anywhere a large group needs to be identifiable and the budget per head is small.

Offices use them differently. Staff badges for retail floors and front desks, delegate and crew badges for conferences, and internal recognition — a badge for a team that shipped something, which sounds small but tends to get worn.

Then there's campaign and cause work: awareness drives, membership badges, election and society campaigns, fundraising resale. Anything where you need a visible signal on a lot of people at once, quickly.

40mm or 60mm: Which Size to Order

Pick 40mm if the badge is being worn on a shirt or a lanyard by a lot of people, and the design is a logo or a short name. It reads as an accessory rather than a statement, which is what you want for staff and crew.

Pick 60mm if the badge has to be read rather than just seen — a slogan, a role title, a name plus designation, or artwork with any detail in it. The extra 20mm is more than it sounds like on the face, and it's the difference between a legible tagline and a smudge.

If you're unsure, order six of each. That's the reason the minimum is set where it is.
